It depends on what your winter low temperature is. If acrylic (water based) paint freezes it will be ruined. Oil based paints do better in the cold but eventually freezing temps with ruin them as well.

maybe in an insulated cooler it would help some. is the ground of building dirt dig down into dirt and set cooler inground it would keep it even cooler in 100% temps thick insulated cooler with lid should keep it from freezing.
