Try going to a big box store & finding one that is damaged and get them to mark it down. That’s how I got mine for $5.
If you have a lot of time, I’d see how much an electrician would charge me for an empty small cable spool and attach it to a treated 2x4 after I saturated it with 2 full coats exterior spar varnish.
