Kc....I have used fine steel wool and today there was a project showing Coca Cola works but I haven't tried that! Good luck!
I pour bleach in mine and scrub with a brush, then flush once or twice to get it out of there so it doesn't affect the flapper.
i do the same as Sharon just let bleach set and scrub with the toliet brush.I've also heard vinegar will clean it also
