Vinegar is what I use to kill ants, but there are many other remedies out there.
Flea removal is a process. Will take up to a month of diligent cleaning, vacuuming and washing.
Diatomaceous earth for the ants.
If flea issue is bad, give up & call an exterminator. We spent more $ DIY than if we had called them. They had something that sterilized the fleas & eggs.
For freshener, dissolve 2 Tbsp Downy Unstoppables (or similar) in hot water then put in a spray bottle.
I use an organic insect spray called Greenways Bug Repellent which has lemongrass oil, citronella oil and cedar oil mixed in water with a fine spray bottle. Ants are killed by mint or lemongrass oil, I buy Victors or EcoSmart or EcoLogic non-toxic spray that kills on contact and if you rub on the doorways, cabinet edges or along floor edge it repels them.
Fleas, the vet told me to sprinkle borax on the carpets and furniture, I put in a glass jar with the lid poked with many holes, leave for 3 hours and then vacuum up. I just buy the 20 Mule Team Laundry Borax. This I can add 1/2 cup to the laundry too to kill any eggs or fleas.
