Judith....Many times you can purchase a buffing compound from Autozone, Walmart, Amazon, etc. and it should work.
Hi Judith. I agree. If the scratches aren't deep you can usually buff them out.
Polishing compound will take them out if the scratches are small. Get it at an auto store or Walmart.
You can use toothpaste to remove the scratches on your car. (The toothpaste has to be paste, not gel.) Use a damp soft cloth and a smear of toothpaste and rub it into the scratch. Then buff lightly. you can also use this method on your headlights to keep them clear and bright.
