Try chipping/picking at it up. If you can cut it out that could work. Depending on your carpet, goof off could work or melt your carpet. Denatured alcohol desolves latex but could damage your carpet also. Need to do a test first in an unseen area.

Goo Off, but try doing a melt-test first:

from a corner or a closet, snip/cut a carpet strand and then put it in a tiny glass bowl with Goo Off on it.

If that melts, then go back to that closet and consider getting a “donor” patch from there & patch the carpet. Small patches can be direct glued to the pad, paying attention to the “grain”.

Large patches, you’ll need to hire a pro.

If you can't remove the paint with cleaning materials, you can try to snip small areas of it with very sharp scissors, then try to pull the remaining bits off by hand. Do this very carefully and STOP if you will be making too large of a hole.

  • Rubbing alcohol works. Test it first. Pour some on, use a clean dry rag to blot the carpet until it's clean. It might take several times before it's all gone but it works well.
