How can I convert a dresser/hutch into a desk?
Has anyone tried to turn a dresser into a desk? Or a hutch? I'm trying to come up with a desk/combo for my son's room. Having trouble finding a used one to repurpose, but I have a dresser and hutches are easier to come by.Thanks for any help!

You might be able to remove a couple of drawers to make a hole for a chair or extend the top to make a desk area.
I took 2 two drawer filing cabinets and a piece of countertop and made my daughter a desk. It is the perfect height and you have 4 deep drawers for storage. You can add bins or baskets for organization. You would be shocked at how much it will hold. She has moved out & didn't take it so I cleaned them out 2 weeks ago. By the way, I didn't secure them because they were so full of "stuff" the cabinets weren't moving & the countertop was heavy enough to just sit without attaching. I'm planning on moving them & adding a 3rd cabinet for my laundry room. Storage and a folding space - I'm more than a little excited about it.
It was my thought also to remove a couple of drawers. I wasn't sure if anyone had tried it before. I do love your idea of the filing cabinets. Thank you!
