How do I get rid of tree roots?

I have one tree in the front and back of my house. The roots have found its way to my bathroom and clods up my toilet. What simple application would you recommend?Denise J

If it has eaten into the sewer system, this is more than a DIY. You need a plumber and a stump grinder. Neither are cheap, so be prepared.

We had that happen once. The plumber was able to clean the pipes through the toilet. He then advised putting rock salt down the toilet periodically to kill any root regrowth. It worked!
