How to Jazz up a Dull Lamp-base With Mosaic
This charity shop gem lamp base was screaming out for a jazzing up and I had just the right glass pieces left over from another project to transform it.
I use pva glue to stick tiles on and as not using grout I butt the glass tiles up tighter with no gaps. I start from bottom edge.
Adding tiles but by bit . I then position the base to support somtiles don’t slide off until dry then position around to do next section.
Choosing colours to compliment each other and varied sizes to add interest.
I continue adding tiles slowly letting each section dry in between.
The base begins to look really colourful and with each layer it develops a personality.
Then at last is transformed and looking amazing. I created lampshade mosaic makeover to go with it ( see separate tutorial on how to create this look) and wow I’m so happy with how it turned out.
