    Hi Sharon, sorry you have rust on your carpet. Hope this helps. Pour the ammonia and water mixture directly onto the rust stain. Let this sit for about 5 minutes. Blot the stain with a clean portion of the white cloth. If the rust stain residue still remains, mix lemon juice, white vinegar and salt together and apply this mixture directly onto the rust stain.     Hi Sharon. I'm Cindy. Begin by scraping the rust stain with a butter knife. Then vacuum up the particles. Then make a solution with 1 cup of warm water and one-quarter teaspoon of liquid dish soap. Blot this solution on to the rust. Don't rub it. Use paper towels to blot the solution back up. Keep doing this until rust is gone.

    Hi ! Try a carpet cleaner called Folex !!!!!!!!!!!! It is the best cleaner out there ! It gets rid of ink , wine , dust and even dried paint ! I found it at home depot for around $6 .

    It can also be used in a carpet cleaning machine .
