Hi Sharon, sorry you have rust on your carpet. Hope this helps. Pour the ammonia and water mixture directly onto the rust stain. Let this sit for about 5 minutes. Blot the stain with a clean portion of the white cloth. If the rust stain residue still remains, mix lemon juice, white vinegar and salt together and apply this mixture directly onto the rust stain. Hi Sharon. I'm Cindy. Begin by scraping the rust stain with a butter knife. Then vacuum up the particles. Then make a solution with 1 cup of warm water and one-quarter teaspoon of liquid dish soap. Blot this solution on to the rust. Don't rub it. Use paper towels to blot the solution back up. Keep doing this until rust is gone.
Hi ! Try a carpet cleaner called Folex !!!!!!!!!!!! It is the best cleaner out there ! It gets rid of ink , wine , dust and even dried paint ! I found it at home depot for around $6 .
It can also be used in a carpet cleaning machine .
Hi Sharon: First of all, don't scrub at it, you'll only push it further into the carpet. You can use these hints:
Lemon juice. Paint the stained area with plenty of lemon juice. If you’ve got salt to hand, you can use this to help draw out more of the stain: combine equal amounts of salt and lemon juice, and stir to make a thickish paste. Then (gently!) rub this onto the stain.
White vinegar. Just like lemon juice, white vinegar is a natural anti-rust remedy. You can use this in exactly the same way, too.
