Ground cover instead of grass, pathways, courtyards lower the work. My front yard has landscape cloth, mulch and low maintenance plantings with a walkway to my front porch. There is a tree, and some low maintenance plantings from a local nursery that provide color. Some small gazing balls and a stone lantern complete the look.I pull up the occasional weeds, replace mulch as needed. The backyard is small but with more grass, and a mulched garden and tree. I can do the yard in half an hour. We cook out there and have a seating area to relax. Hope that helps.😁

6 Front Yard Landscaping Ideas That Add Curb Appeal
Hi Marce. Keeping your grass cut is key to a nice landscape. You can have a tree or two, but that's it. Trees require a small amount of work, like mulching, pruning, etc. If you want some plants in your yard, be sure to use perennials. They come back every year. They may require very little work. For decoration, put an American flag up, and purchase or make a wreath for your front door. Use artificial flowers in the wreath. Again, no work at all, but still looks nice.
