If you're talking about in carpet I'd start with just a fresh water rinse with some cleaning rags to get the most of it cleaned up. Then follow it with a 50/50 vinegar solution on your rag. Keep rinsing your rag out and working at the area until it feels like all the slimey is gone. Then you can use Nature's Miracle to clean the area well and also remove any remaining odor.
On carpet? Wipe up as much as you can with paper towels. Them mix up a vinegar water solution to wipe up and disinfect. One of my dogs caught an intestinal bug somewhere and she vomited up what was left in her tummy. Then had liquid diarrhea. Off to the vet we went. I feel your pain.
