What about using a lazy susan and placing a larger platform on it for the puzzle?
If it were me, I would build a light weight top on a large lazy susan base. You can sit still and turn it to the side you like. If you don't want to build from scratch, set a large lazy susan on an old existing table, put 1/4 inch sanded plywood on it and attach with a good glue like Gorilla or E6000 glue. Make the attachment to the original table permanent too so it won't tip as you lean on it.
