I have a chance to get a bunch of different kinds of wood chips FREE and was wondering if I could put it in flower garden and keep my weeds and grass out. Also kill what is there also.

Hot chips(freshly ground) will kill everything in your flower bed. Let them season for a few months and you are good to go. Best weed or spray beds before placing chips for best results.
Buy ground cloth and earth staples. Place it down first and then cover with mulch.
flower garden is already there just wanted to cover the ground then what is best to do. You see I am 70 years young and had recent back surgery not able to do what I once did. Any other suggestion.?

What type of wood chips? Do not place in flower beds next to any structure. It's a buffet for termites.
