I have a small kitchen, with very little counter and cabinet space. I currently have a blender, counter top handheld mixing tools, a toaster r, fruit holder and a tall crock for kitchen utensils. I cannot stand the x and the decreased counter space for food preparation. I don't have the cabinet space to store blender and mixing tools. Toaster oven is used daily as is the fruit holder and utensil crock. Please helllppp.

Our kitchen counter space benefited from removing a cabinet and adding open shelving.

In our case, the microwave shelf obstructed the actual counter. You can see that the open shelves could make room for some of the things you listed and free up counter.

  • Could you store the blender on top of the fridge? And you could always hang a mason jar or similar jar to the wall and store utensils there. Hope this helps, and if you have a picture, we may have more suggestions. Good luck!

I added a sideboard in my family room to store my excess kitchen supplies. You could also try vertical storage, use space above the cabinets, or add a tall hutch or bakers rack if there is space.

Have two large cabinets in a first floor spare room that act as my pantries. Already have a stand alone cupboard and have a soffet over my cabinets. But thank you for you suggestions. I appreciate your time.

Putting the blender on top of fridge is a good idea. Wish I had a wall for the utensil idea, but that would be across the kitchen.. Lol thank you for your help.

Perhaps a rolling cart with shelves underneath.

  • Hi Kimberly - We have a large kitchen but an awkward layout that does not allow for a lot of storage. Here are some great ideas you can use too. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

Hi I always needed more space in my kitchen too. With that being said... I always have the same thought when it comes to needing more space... go up.. meaning for example. On your counter buy a small decorative shelf , ikea sells beautiful ones that are free standing. You can even use two on top of one another. This will automatically “double” your space. Same idea with furniture. Stack upward because that wall space is wasted unless you want to hang de orations. I’ve always used this idea because I never had enough room... maybe I had too much “stuff”? This is in my bedroom armoire.. sorry so sloppy. I added a wire shelf and then I put the bin on top, so I doubled my space. Hope this gives you some ideas.

Thank you for your time and suggestions they are really really good. The only fault with that is that my cabinets come down and the space between the bottom of my cabinets and countertops would not allow me to put a shelf that would allow for appliances. That's my biggest issue if I didn't have the appliances then I'd have more counter space. I forgot to mention in my original post I have an air fryer and a Keurig coffee maker on my counter as well, so as you can see, my countertops are taken up by such large objects. But I will definitely see if I can do what someone else had mentioned in possibly putting the blender and mixing tools on top of my refrigerator and maybe a hutch for my coffee maker. My daughter had suggested the hutch and what's popular today is little coffee nooks. Some days it is just so frustrating I want to pull my hair out. Thank you so much again for your suggestion, by the way I do use your suggestion in my bedroom as well, I have some containers that are stacked with stuff as well. I too say the same thing to myself, I have too much stuff. I am by far not a hoarder, I just like everything in its place and just have no more places left LOL. Thank you again.
