How can I prevent freezer frost from my frozen bags of food?
First time I've had an automatic ice maker in my freezer. Since I don't use ice cubes much, I turned it off. A while after that is when I noticed everything I'd put into the freezer, including frozen waffles, etc. was getting covered with ice/frost or whatever you call it. Then I thought, 'I wonder if it could be the ice maker?' I've turned it back on and 'Whoa' no more ice/frost on my frozen items. WOW!

Hi Diane,
That's an interesting observation, you may want to contact the manufacturer, have the make and model numbers ready and tell them about it.
Double bag everything (plastic bags)...the top layer keeps the frost away from the inner layer. I save produce and bread bags for this purpose.
Usually a malfunctioning freezer, in terms of frost, is due to the nightly defrost cycle not working properly.
That can be due to what’s called the defroster timer, or another component which is a heating element,.
