starch mixed with water works for me.
Use liquid starch.
Soak the doilies in very thick starch. Place the wet doilies over the right size shape like over oranges or grapefruit, or over take home clam shells from restaurants. Let them dry 2-3 days. Then they can even be spray painted, but if they get really damp, the doilies will have to dry for a couple of days again to keep their shape. Sounds like fun! Jewell
