The wild rhodo we planted in the front of our house is now almost completely blocking our bay window. What is the best way to trim it and give it some shape that we can control?

I trim mine back as it needs it. Just start trimming, but they are large bushes.

I severely cut back a huge

rhododendron in our front yard and it thrived. They are very hardy.

Hi Shari. I use the Old Farmer's method when it comes to pruning. It is: From Spring thru Fall, only prune in months that have an "R" in its name. For example, you can prune in April but not in May. May does not contain an R. So, in another week, we will be in SeptembeR. Prune away.

We have trimmed our bushes back many times. They are a hardy bush and just keep growing and we keep on trimming. We have done this now for over 40 years.
