How can I repair/replace my grass that was damaged by dog urine?

Does anyone know how to repair the grass spots left from dog urine? It feels like we are constantly digging up spots replacing soil and sprouting new grass seed. Is there a grass seed that is more sturdy to plant?

Nope. Build a dog run with gravel and sand floor surface, and then use a pooper scouper to keep it clean.

No seed that will withstand dog urine. Just have to replace soil and overseed the spots.

Just part of the joy of having pets. Diluting areas with water, do as you have been reseeding. Cannot suggest seed because you do not say where you live climate in your city(not zone);this is world wide site

As long as you have your dog you will continually have the problem unless you can train him to go in one special improvised location.

Hi Dominique, so sorry to hear that. It's a common problem. Dog urine is rich in nitrogen and ammonia so it acts as a liquid fertilizer in a concentrated amount. You can put a tablespoon of baking soda on the spot and water the area to dilute. I personally don't believe in giving your fur baby supplements to neutralize the nitrogen in their wee. It messes with their own body functions.

How about building a dog run for doggo either on the side of the house or at the back of the fence. Add some gravel and sand for a potty area, keep a pooper scooper and bucket for removal, and a shade area. Then if you see dog go in the yard, keep a bucket of water handy and douse the spot before it dies.
