Hi Sheila. Where there are bugs there will be geckos and other lizards. They are harmless and will not attack you. If you have a real phobia of these creatures, you can sprinkle coffee grounds, or garlic around. Chili powder also has some effect and they're also not crazy about pepper. Hope this helps.
