Yep, use pool noodles, I have seen these used in garages, especially at resorts with tight cornered garages. Yet, in all practicality, people still clobber them.
Cut a slit down the length and place/glue on the corners.
I have seen people hang tennis balls from string. When the car hits the ball and it moves you know it is time to stop.
