What kind of paint should I use for painting an entertainment center?

Tami....There is less prep work with chalk paint than regular paint. I like chalk but did mine with Valspar and had to sand. Good luck!
Chalk paint has a tendency to scratch easier than other paint so if you will be moving items on the center, I would go with something other than chalk paint.
I would use a good enamel paint. Sherwin Williams and Ben Moore have a good acrylic for cabinets. Chalk paint damages very easily.
Agreed! If its a very high taffic area chalk paint isnt ideal. If you really want the chalk paint look though you can always use a water based poly on top for durability
