How can I clean my microwave?

Just bought a house and microwave oven has yellow egg or cheese stuck to bottom of oven. Not sure what it is. Oven cleaners only say "oven," not "microwave."

Hi Connie, One of the best ways to clean up the egg/cheese mess is to place a large cup of water in the microwave and heat the water to boil. Depending on the wattage of your microwave time will vary. I often put half and half vinegar and water, or lemon juice and water. Let the cup of steaming water stay in microwave a few minutes. The steam will help to soften the mess and make it more easy to scrape away or wipe up with a hot soapy cloth. Vinegar will help disinfect and rid the microwave of any odor as well.
