I have a bagless shark vacuum and it's wonderful. My lab sheds like crazy and I can't imagine life without that vacuum. The bottom comes off to make it lighter for vacuuming stairs too.
I also have a Shark vacuum that works great for picking up my pet hair and dirt. I also have a Hoover Spin Scrub carpet cleaner that I use about every 3 or 4 months to really get up all the dirt and it raises the pile of the carpet so it almost looks brand new!
I have a Bissell for doghair. It is lightweight and has tools. It is better than a $600.00 one I purchased. I bought it thru Khols online a few years ago. It has tools, costs under $100.00 and works great. I would recommend it.
I have a Dyson Ball Animal vacuum and I hate it. I had a Kirby 25 years until it died. It moves along nicely on it's own, but overall, it's rough on my back due to the swivel. It cleans very well as I have lots of dog and cat hair and live in a dusty area, but it doesn't pick up minor pebbles or do throw rugs AT ALL. A bummer since I live in AZ. My Kirby did both. It works on hard floors well as it doesn't make the hair fly, but the hose that comes out is incredibly hard to manage when it's on to use for any purpose (floor or sofas); the hose sort of snaps back when turned on due to the suction, unless you can manage keeping the hose out with one hand and vacuuming with the other. I wouldn't recommend it at 70 in the least. I'm 58. I think you're better off getting something lighter that costs less and replace it two-3 times by comparison to the expense of the Dyson. I find the handle cheap and after 6 months, I already have odd sounds. Not motor, just "plastic." I do love the no bag thing, but I think they're trying to get one vacuum to do too many things.
I have a Hoover carpet cleaner that I use every few months. I have found that the pad underneath the carpet is now taking a long time to dry. The carpet is 9 years old, so that may have something to do with it. I also have the Hoover bagless vacuum, which I love.
I have a little red devil bought mine in a yard sale for 3.00 I like it a lot, the sell them in dollar general seen ther before, 20.00...ther lite weight
I'm in my 60's and I would NOT recommend the Dyson animal vac. which I bought and regret! For the same reasons the other readers have said. I like the small shark vacuum that I have which is easy to carry up stairs and does a great job!🤗

I love my dyson.
Eureka mighty mite. It is a small canister vacuum. Very lightweight. Works great on hard floors. I have 3 dogs and it gets a lot of use in my house!

Shark has a light weight vacuum . Shark Navigator. Weighs about 10/ 12 lbs.
i love Shark. I have 2. One a bought several years ago, still works fine.
The navigator is about 2 yrs old, do to open heart surgery... needed something lighter.
There is a newer one out, pet fur doesn't get caught up in the brush.

Roomba picks up pet hair off of my hardwoods. It’s 😉
Good choice. I would also recommend Hoover Pet Max Complete Bagless.
