how much of a area does aa gallon of paint cover
Hi, Joan!
The back of the can will give the coverage information, plus it will depend on how thick the application will be. I think it is generally 250 to 400 square feet, and will vary by brand. I hope this helps!
If walls are freshly primed. Which sould be done if paint us over 5 years old. Approx 450 square feet.
If you think you'll need to do at least 2 coats, primer is cheaper than finish paint and can be tinted to almost the color if your paint. Great solution for 2 coat coverage.
It also depends on the color. And what color you're painting over. White over black for instance is going to require more paint. Red and yellow also require a ton of coats for good coverage.
But normally, 1 can will cover a small room.
