How do I care for an amaryllis that seems to be growing on its own?

I was given an amaryllis last Thanksgiving and the plant is still alive and the fronds (?) are growing quite long. I would like to keep it going and don't care if it flowers again as it is interesting as is. Should I do anything more than my current benign neglect?

    Hi Emily,

Most people want them to bloom again so that's part of amaryllis care instructions. Take a peak at this article to see if there is anything you can glean from it. Wishing you the best.

Hi Emily. I'm Cindy. At the end of the summer bring your Amaryllis back inside. Put it in a sunny spot. Stop watering and feeding. When the leaves turn yellow, cut them off. Then move the plant to a cool, dark place where it's between 55 and 60 degrees. The plant (bulb) will need at least 8 to 10 weeks of rest. Good luck Emily.

Thank you Linda and Cindy, for your advice. The plant has never been outside and has not been watered or fed. It just keeps growing! It has been in a sunny (mostly) place.
