Yes Michelle you will have to take out the rotting floors. If you think you can't do this job yourself you should enlist some help. It may be that the floor under the tub isn't in good shape so you will have to make sure that everything is solid. You may have some handy people in your family that can help or a kind neighbor. If that isn't the case you may have to call a contractor. Perhaps there are some things you can do yourself and you and the contractor can make decisions about that. I am sorry to hear about your husband.

Ditto, so very sorry. You need to replace subfloor with 3/4 plywood. Best to use water proof since you are going over it with only wood. Be sure to finish floor with Marine varnish.

I agree with Kelli, Needs to be Marine Plywood. Do think of using a Wood look Ceramic or Vinyl flooring on top (both can be bought in a wood look!) Best wishes.

Agree with the other answers. I would also try to find where leak was that rotted floors, if that issue hasn't been addressed in the past. Lots of other issues to consider - is your floor level? Do you have the skill and tools to do the project? Many tools can be rented, saving the expense of purchasing something you might not use often. Talk to friends/relatives about recommendations if you need to hire help. I am so sorry about your husband. Send a picture when your project is completed!
