How can I cover a large area of high ceiling inexpensively?

the area is an open concept home on 9 foot ceilings, in , kitchen , dining room large family room and living room approximately 2500 ft.²

Cheap, but classy, way to cover ceiling
Why are you trying to cover the ceiling? is it damaged? If not have you thought about a painted ceiling? You can add metallics, faux paint a design, create trey ceilings with paint and a bit of drywall? 9' ceilings are not that tall. You could also add some faux beams if you're looking to break it up. You could also install cove lighting to add some light effects and color.
