How can I prepare a wall for new tile after removing the old tile?

What do you use to prepare a wall that has had tile on it and been taken off?

Scrape al old grout off and then you could start start in the middle of the wall and work out add tile glue with a putty knife that has the ridges on the end then lay tile keep glue even on wall,use spacers keep tile up close to each other let sit 24 hours then grout.
