How do I clean bottom of a frying pan?

How can I clean the outside bottom of a stainless steel frying pan? Something has burned on: I have tried scrubbing with Barkeepers Friend and Bon Ami with a toothbrush. The bottom is "ridged" in a circular pattern. I can scrape a little off with a knife in the ridges but I don't want to ruin the pan.clhr

Try laying a bounce on the pan and dampen it let it soak for a little bit then wipe it off
Try Peroxide and baking soda paste.
A little vinegar and baking soda and let it sit for a little while.

It works great, but takes a lot of work.Leaves a nice shine and takes off everything.
