I have a scrap piece of wood, (1st picture) which I plan to paint and add the Welcome stencil/premade lettering (picture 2) but have too much extra space to fill in. I am not a crafty person nor have tools for cutting the wood shorter, and really need some pointers. I'd like to hang in my entryway by front door. Thanks!

How about adding some coat hooks along the bottom and a couple more with the larger heads on either side of "Welcome" for hats?

my tip would have been stencil your fav. flowers either side, but I do like the glass doorknobs

Some stripes on either side using painters tape would look great also!

Swirls are a great idea also, and if you mess up, turn it into another swirl.....

I was also going to mention placing some glass hooks or doorknobs for people to hang coats, keys, unbrellas, etc as they enter your home. You could also attach a small piece of wood on each side to add shelves to place a small pot or other piece of decor.

@Southern Couture I haven't completed this project yet as I've been busy doing interior painting. But thanks for the ideas.
