How do I remove grease from the top of gas stove?

    Dawn will cut the grease and then follow up with a magic eraser or bar keeper's friend. Bar keepers friend won't scratch the surface.

    It's smelly, but it works for me...sprinkle a bath towel generously with ammonia and place over the top of the stove overnight. The next morning, pick up the towel and any residue left should be soft enough to wipe away.

    Note on the towel method: do NOT do this if you have a live pilot flame!!!
