How can I preserve my hydrangeas and use in home decor?

My hydrangeas are bigger than pumpkins this year. I would like to preserve some of the blooms. Any ideas how and then any decor ideas?

I cut my hydrangeas blooms off and spray with hair spray or with a light dusting of clear sealer (not a poly--just a clear sealer) I place them in very large glass vases in areas of my home where they will not get disturbed. They will hold color for about a year but then they get dry and the petals begin fall off if you move them around.

Cut them and hang them somewhere dry and then they will be ready to display.
I just cut mine and put them in vases. They dry out on their own. Their color fades after a few months - but I have dried hydrangeas all over my house and replace the old with new every year!
