Any ideas??
How would you paint this table (pic)?
I want to paint my oak table... I tried using chalk paint but I don't know if I like it... I also was thinking of sanding and staining it... I would love to hear any suggestions!

Hi Nicole, depending on your design style I think it would look lovely with a stained top and a white base!
Hey Nicole,
Have you topped your chalk paint with wax? That will make a big difference.
I have a couple of chairs that look exactly like yours. Here's how one of them looks now that I painted it with chalk paint:

Don't give up yet on chalk paint! Play around with colors until you find one you love - and don't forget the wax! :)
Personally I like to look of wood and paint. Stain the top paint the base. Some ideas.

I would strip and stain a darker color. Painted furniture has limited style appeal. Stained wood is timeless.
Hey Nicole I would definitely sand it and restain then finish off with a shiny gloss shellac to protect it. I don't like painted wood because it chips plus hides the beauty of the wood grain. There are so many beautiful wood stains available such as Cherrywood, espresso, walnut, maghogny etc. I restained all my outdated oak pieces and it gives it new life.
dont like the grey chalk. Are gonna paint the chairs? A lady on this site said refinish the top and paint the bottom white. That is a great solution. You can do that with the chairs also. My kitchen set is painted that way. Best wishes.
Thank you everyone! My first thought was to sand & strip the table ,stain and paint the chairs as well as the bottom of the table so I am going to sand, paint & stain it...I will show you all the finished product 👍
Paint brush! Definitely would has a paint brush! Perhaps some geometric pattern in color that match the colors in the room it Is going in. One wide line on either side then some geometric!
