What kind of paint should I use for making over door handles?

I would only use a spray paint made for metal. Remove the handles, clean them well, and maybe even lightly sand before spraying.

I use spray paint that is specifically made for metal. You can find cans of it in Walmart or any paint store. It really adheres great to the metal.

RustOleum hammered spray paint is my favorite.

Rustoleum universal spray paint is particularly good for metal items it has paint and primer. I’ve touched up my oil rubbed door knobs with it-the only door knob without a finish warranty.
