    It's really hard to tell from that picture.

      It just grew out of the blue in a raised bed. I had zucchini there before and I have cantaloupe in my garden as well.

    If you didn't plant it then it's probably a weed.

    It's an Aphid trap, a species of Unicorn Plant. Also known as Ram's horn, Devil's claw Unicorn plant, Louisiana unicorn-plant, Purple flowered Devil's claw, Goat's head, Elephant tusk, Louisiana ram's horn, Horn-capsuled martynia and Common devil's claw. Botanical name Proboscidea louisianica.

      You generally grow them from seeds but I imagine some friendly neighbourhood bird just pooped it out for you. By the way the very young tender shoots can be used in stir fry and like recipes.
