How can I cover wall marks before wallpapering?

I am wallpapering my , so I took 3 layers off, and my walls are awful, so, can I use brown paper ( rolls) to cover the paneling marks up, if so, what do I use , paste ?

    I'm not sure what you are asking but I removed 2 stubborn layers of wallpaper easily by scoring the paper and soaking the walls with a mixture of 1 cup of Downey fabric softener to a gallon of hot water, applied with an old t-shirt. Wait 10 minutes and peel the paper off.


    I would not add a layer of brown paper...if you want to eliminate the lines from paneling you could spackle each line then sand to smooth. Good luck!

    If you have paneling walls, you can purchase a medium that is specific to cover the grooves. I did that at my parents' house and it worked great.
