It depends on the climate you live in. The zone and the specific plants that can live in it. Where are you?
Hello. It may depend on what plants you have. Can you post a picture?
I am in zone seven -central Virginia and my succulents stay outside all winter without any complications or special seasonal attention. They come back every year and look better and better. They are wonderful plant resilient and self-sustaining. Generally they are hugging the perimeter of my house. The one plant below has had the hen and chicks has sat in this pot since 2011 - totally ignored on an elevated deck—you can see how the pot has degraded and weathered. Hope this helps.
The ones I left outside last winter did better than the ones I brought in. I'm in 7b.
Both, as long as you control the amount of water and sunlight.
