TSP is a very good cleaner. Available at the big box stores. Also, a scrub brush and dish detergent on the cabinets. Then restain them with matching stain. Works very well, just lots of elbow grease.

I use original concentrated Krud Kutter. Spay it on. Let it set a minute wipe off. Then take a damp microfiber cloth and wipe again. Then I took furniture restore and went over them. 20 year old cabinets look new. I used it on my 40 year old rock maple furniture. Took off layers of polish. Applied furniture restore. Looks fantastic. No elbow grease scrubbing.
