So I took my oven door apart to clean it. How do you clean the hard plastic that is the outer shell of the oven doors? It's the inside of a stainless steel on the other side.

I clean mine with lemon olive oil and paper tpowels. You should see what comes off. Then lots of dawn soapy water and wash cloth. Dry with more paper towels.

BE CAREFUL WITH PAPER TOWELS AND PLASTIC as the wood fibers in the paper can and WILL horribly scratch the plastic. One should always soft cloth when cleaning anything plastic ... from one who, from past mistakes, has SCRATCHED plastic surfaces!

I would a degreaser and let it sit on there before using a clean cotton rag (like T-shirt material) and a bowl of hot soapy water for rinsing they rag, when removing it.

Hi ladies! Well, holy smokes, would you believe I have never ever had to clean in between the glass of my oven door. I didn't even know it could be done! I admire you out there tackling this endeavor. My thoughts are with you all ;-)

  • For so long I thought you just couldn't clean between the glass. It isn't something covered in the owners manual. My oven actually has three pieces of glass making up the glass on the oven door. I have no idea how dirt gets in there, but it does! One day I was fed up with how gross it looked and I took the whole thing apart. I unscrewed all the screws holding in the glass. I carefully washed the glass with dish soap and water. I took pictures as I went, so I would be able to put it back together. Here is a picture of the top oven clean, and the bottom still dirty. I can't tell you how happy it made me to finally have the oven looking good again. I hope yours is easier to clean than mine was.
