How can I keep sycamore leaves from taking over my porch and yard?

I love my open front porch, but I have learned to hate sycamore trees. My neighbor has a high sycamore in front and back yard, they should be outlawed. Every morning my porch looks terrible because his leaves blownall over my porch and all over my yard. My husband and I are not able to take our yard every day. He gets his blower outat 7:30 in the morning and blows his leaves off his yard. I feel like moving because of that stupid tree. What can I do? You can't sit on the porchwithout being drowned out by that blower

Does your neighbor have noise control. Ours does and you cannot use a blower or mower before 8:30 am and no noise after 9 pm.

For me it is little pine needles. They go everywhere, everyday. And oh boy are we blessed with them when it rains. Aside from the big leaf blower, we have a small Makita blower/vac. It isn't designed for yard work, it is more of a shop tool. It has a cord of about 6 feet in length and I use that to blow the needles away from the door. If you have an outside outlet I suggest something like that. It is about the size of a circular saw, very light weight and stores easily.

For the bigger clean ups, buy yourself a walking cane, then the next time your neighbor has his blower out, walk over to him (using your new cane) and ask him if he would mind giving you a hand by blowing the leaves out of your yard too. He obviously likes to blow leaves. Don't be afraid to play the age card.

I think I would talk to my neighbor first and let him know how annoying this is for you and your husband. He may not realize he is disturbing your porch area by blowing the leaves (although he should) ask him if he could help you to come up with a solution for the both of you

Don't hate the tree (I had three giant sycamores, so I know your pain), hate the neighbor for blowing his leaves your way. Tell him that he needs to blow the leaves away from your property/porch, not onto it. If you have a shop vacuum, you can put the hose in the blower outlet and blow them off your porch.

I agree. You should talk to your neighbor. He might not realize the tree’s leaves are causing so much trouble. Good luck!
