Put apple cider vinegar in a small dish, cover with saran wrap, poke hole in the plastic with a fork. The will enter and never get out. Sort of like Hotel California.

Trudie, would you please explain or show a photo? I have no idea what you are asking.

There is no keeping them off or out, and the AC trick is not effective, nor the exterior spraying, nor the lights. the best thing to do if one follows you in is to keep your eyes peeled at the ceiling or walls and smush them with a duster.

The best spray I have found is the Sawyer's Fisherman's Friend Picardidin Repellant pens are fantastic. I have tried every spray out there including the Sawyer 4oz bigger spray applicator bottle and it does not work as well, even though it supposedly has the exact same 20% Picardidin mixture they use in the pens, and it gets oil all over your hands. You will need to reach a sink after applying it.

The Fisherman's Friend pen is amazing and they stay off you for 7- 8 hours. Adore the pen applicator spray, as I don't have to spray any on my skin, fits in your purse, doesn't leak, nor does using it make your hands oily, so no need to wash your hands after applying it, if you are out and not near water. I just do one tiny puff on each shoulder then wipe the excess left at the spray tip on my hair.

Some divers complained that it stained their wetsuits. I don't dive so can't speak to that, but I have not had it stain one piece of clothing. Another thing I like about the pen is a tiny spritz does not leak through your clothes, so it really does not get on one's skin. I am allergic to an ingredient in all insect repellants, so that's been important for me. It also does not make you smell like you have repellant on after it dries. Another plus.

Sans the Sawyer Fisherman's Friend pen, I would recommend the Skin So Soft, but that only keeps them off for about 15-20 minutes. I do a clothing dab with that as well. After that the Off or the Sawyer 4 oz, as my go to. They don't seem to be Deet effected anymore, it's like they are immune, and don't care. Good Luck!
