You are looking at a complicated if possible at all project. Once the initial finish is worn down you can try dyeing it which I would never try myself. If you want a pro to do it, you are asking for major money. I have a dark brown leather chair that hubby with OCD wore down to a tear. Being that it was a small area, I bought some dark brown duct tape and just patched the area. I felt the only option was buying another chair. Just sharing my experience and research.
thank you ....
I am not surprised with what you said !
Louise: I swear by this stuff:
I believe you can not purchase this in the UK ??
How worn-out is it?
I would use a leather treatment cream that has lanolin in it.
re-dying is not difficult, just arduous.
I would look into whether or not to dye it first or to condition it first.
since human hair & leather both have keratin, I would guess it is best to condition it first.
The cream sofa had lost its cream colour in patches , so it looks dirty almost.
Thanks for ideas if you have any suggestions x
Re-dyeing it to a darker color would probably be easier, based on how tough it was to keep my cream colored leather dress shoes looking “even” when I put cream-colored shoe polish on them.
