How do I repair this damage to my wall?

I threw the laptop and it made this damage to the wall. I need to fix it before moving out of apartment. If we need to buy any raw material for this, then cheaper and smallest quantity is better since we don't know when we will use it next.Thanks in advance.
Home Depot has small containers of fast dry spackling compound. Fill hole, let dry and lightly sand smooth.
John....I hate myself when I get angry enough to throw something because it usually creates even more anger (of course at myself... the blame). I would use a little filler from a hardware store and let it dry then sand. You will probably need to paint and matching the paint will probably be the hardest part. Looks white and flat from my end so maybe just a little sample paint will work. Good luck and I have noticed as I age ...my temper mellows...it's just not worth it when it comes to trying to mend the damage! God Bless!

Thanks Guys for so wonderful ideas. I was able to patch it.
Dap color dry spackling compound. when you put it on it is pink, when dry it is white. Lightly sand and paint. It is approximately $5.00
If the hole is really small, you could try white tooth paste, and paint
