I use a baby gate to keep my older dog corralled. A normal size baby gate didn't work. I ended up ordering one from Amazon with a better height and covering the 42" I needed for an entry way.

  • Time for a vet visit to rule out any undiagnosed illness. What the dog housebroken? How often do you walk the dog or let them out in the yard?

I kennel/crate trained my dog when he was a puppy. A kennel trained dog will not usually poop in their kennel because that is where they sleep. You have to make sure that when you let the dog out of the kennel you take him outside immediately to do his/her bathroom job. You don't mention how old your dog is but you can crate/kennel train an older dog. I only left my dog in his crate for about 2-4 hours per day if I was gone and he slept in it at night as a puppy to about 8 months of age. He is now able to be free in the house when I am gone and I have no accidents. You may also have to pay closer attention to when your dog usually poops; usually within an hour of eating--if your dog isn't telling you that he has to go outside by barking, acting restless, or going to the door. You pretty much have to be on a regular dog poop schedule yourself! Good Luck!

let it out more often;house break/train it it's up to you to let the dog know what you expect of it and not with fear;having a dog is lots of work it needs let out every time it eats bowels are stimulated then, every time it gets up bowels and bladder are stimulated then, let out every time it gets up to get water, every time it gets up to bark ,hears or greets someone coming in or out of house, every time it gets up for any reason you need to take it outside whether it wants to go or not and go out with it letting it know it pleases you immensely right after it has done any business. whenever you go to bathroom take your dog out too pay attention to your dog it's probably been trying to let you know even slightly by coming up to you when it gets up & moving, do not yell or scold your dog when it does goes in house this will only cause it to be fearful and hide when it goes or hold it til you are not present. Animals take time and understanding, they only know what we teach them or don't teach them
