How can I distress painted mirror frames?

Hi Lisa! I like to distress with sandpaper. Focus on the parts that would receive the most natural wear like the corners & the sides.

I use bronze paint on my black painted mirror frames. I put it on with a rag in areas that would be "distressed" and it worked beautiful. It matched the bed which came the same way with black paint and bronze "distress" spots. I love it.

Use a sand paper pad and sand off wear areas. May want to do a flat clear coat when finished

Mirrors hanging on a wall don't get any natural stress, so what you do will be just an artistic work. You can sand the edges, use stain to discolor the frame or any method you can think of. The mirror frame in this photo, I just painted with lots of different colors and types of paint, but it had a wooden design on the edge.

Hi! Light sand paper or steel wool is the best tool to use to distress!
