An Easy to Build Table With a Copper Pipe Frame

Since copper is my favorite metal (and I previously posted an easy to make copper pipe bar cart), I decided to use copper pipe and fittings once again to create this fabulous end table with a stenciled plywood top!

This is another project that is not exactly inexpensive but still makes a stunning addition to any space. The table features a stained and stenciled (using the glue-resist technique) plywood top, and fitss perfectly into any room!

In this project, I cut the copper pipe to length using a pipe cutter. Then I used epoxy to connect the pipe to the fittings to build the frame. (The entire material and supply list, as well as the cut list for the pipe can be found in the blog post.)

I used 3/4" oak plywood for the top and secured it to the frame using pipe straps and screws. I coated a stencil with wood glue on the top to add the pattern. The glue acts as a resist under the stain, and adds a subtle pattern. I stained the top a dark brown color, then used a clear sealer.

The table is perfect in an entryway, as an end table in a living room or even as a nightstand in a bedroom! It was easy to make and only took a few hours - it's the perfect weekend project!
