No real way to repair. If not too bad you can put drywall over it. If really bad it would need to be removed then drywall over the lathe. Cheapest alternative than replastering.

You can re-plaster it in the bad areas, not easy but if you have ever worked with joint compound before, you should be able to get the hang of it.
