What is proper etiquette for window coverings- color to be seen from outdoors view in homes?

I like sheer curtains on my windows so I can see out, sunshine comes in, but inside the home is not seen outside unless it is dark out and the blinds are not closed with lights on

  I agree; I do too!! Do the sheers need to be white or is it appropriate to show alternate colors appearing from outside looking at windows looking in?

  Ps... front of my home o have white sheets across windows so all are consistent. I am trying to put grommet drapes on glass sliding doors on a lot of house. Does it matter if back of curtains are lined on white or not?

Depends if you are in a house or a condo. A lot of condos have rules about that. Usually they all have to be white

  Agree. I have a home. My front windows are all white showing out to the road but I’m trying to redo sliding door coverings and want to use grommet drapes but do they need to be lined in white showing outside to the back of home? Have woods behind my house so no neighbors looking in unless they are walking behind house

  Ps. Have pool out back so I would have sliding doors coming from master bedroom and then sliding doors from family room. That’s my concern - I have two different color theme in those different rooms facing the pool
