How can I clean a microwave quickly?

I saw a post suggestion to put a bowl full of something (?) in the micro wave, heat it up and then the caked on stuff disappears. Anyone?

Plain water will do it or a mixture of water and vinegar. Put the water in a microwave proof bowl and put it in the microwave on high for about 2 minutes. Let it sit after it stops for 5 or 10 minutes. It will steam up the inside or the microwave and loosen all the gunk. You can then wipe it up with a soft cloth or towel and it will be clean!

You can use water and vinegar or water with lemon. Use a microsafe bowel or cup and turn it on full power for a couple of minutes. After the microwave goes off please leave if for about 10 min. until it has time to cool. Remove and wipe out with paper towel or rag.
